A Powerful Force for Good -- It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's a Nonprofit Tagline Here's the 1,300th entry in the Nonprofit Tagline Award program — Louisiana Nonprofits: A Powerful Force for Good, from the Louisiana Association of Nonprofit Organizations (LANO). This is just one of so many great taglines entered, which makes me feel great about the work you and your colleagues are doing to strengthen your organizations' messaging.

This tagline works well. I like the impact of the word powerful, which evokes real change. But I do have one suggestion to boost its power (each drawn from the guidelines in the GettingAttention Nonprofit Tagline Report) — Don't repeat words from your org's name in the tagline. It's wasted real estate.

Remember, your tagline is rarely, if ever, used without your org's name. So when you repeat words (Louisiana Nonprofits), you actually dissuade the listener from paying attention.
