Final Day to Vote & Learn: 16 Compelling Nonprofit Videos

Lights. Camera. Action. But only through midnight today, Wednesday, March 28.

16 incredible videos have been selected as finalists for the 2012 DoGooder Nonprofit Video Awards. I was lucky enough to serve as a judge and tasked with selecting finalists, a great learning opportunity.

There are two reasons for you to review and vote on these videos today (you can vote once daily for the next three days).

  1. Learn what your org can do. These are models of what your organization can do; representing various production values (and so cost points), issue focus and style. Contact the orgs who’ve produced the videos you like for more guidance on what works and what doesn’t.
  2. Hone your understanding of what works best in online video. Voting requires evaluation of these videos; and your evaluation will strengthen your own understanding of the impact and challenges of the video medium. Don’t run away. Online video is a must-have arrow in your nonprofit’s marketing quiver.

Vote today. Select the best in each of these categories: Small Organizations, Medium Organizations, Large Organizations, Best Video Storytelling and Fearless Video (my favorite category of all, and incredibly inspirational). Here’s how: Go in, click on one of the category buttons up top, view the intro video and then use the buttons on the side to move from one video to the next within that category. Then move to the next category using the top menu bar. Enjoy, and take notes!
