Greetings from Down Under: Building Marketing Skills of Aussie Nonprofits

Nothing thrills me more than travel. So what a terrific surprise it was to be invited by the folks at Connecting Up Australia to speak on messaging and train on marketing planning at their annual conference next week. My husband, Sean, and daughter Charlotte are joining me on this adventure so we can spend a bit of time vising with kangaroos and koalas, and we’ve just arrived down under!

Australian nonprofits are facing the same challenges we are: Cuts in government funding, decreases in donations, and a more competitive environment overall. In fact, challenges for Australia’s nonprofits have grown even more dramatically than ours have, as in the past most charity funding came directly from the government, so nonprofit marketers there are still building the skills they need to motivate supporters to give, volunteer and advocate for their causes.

By the way, face-to-face speaking and training is something I’m doing more and more of, and it’s one of my passions. There’s nothing as satisfying as guiding nonprofit communicators and fundraisers like you to build their skills and their confidence. It’s immensely satisfying, and I always learn a lot from the participants.

Here’s more information on my speaking and training services on topics as diverse as marketing planning, storytelling, integrated campaigns, relevance and, of course, message development, plus testimonials of those who have participated and/or listened.  Please email me if you’d like to talk about a speaking or training engagement. Thank you!
