Nancy,

Thank you for your article and your kind words about The Salvation Army's messaging. The Salvation Army has always been proud of the fact that we are locally based and have a continuing presence in countries across the world. Its what has helped us respond quickly to emergencies not just in Japan, but also Haiti and Chile. Good article, and I really appreciate your emphasis on positive ways to improve communications.

Dear Nancy,

Thank you for your timely article. As senior writer at United Jewish Communities of MetroWest NJ (a northern New Jersey-based Jewish federation) I was particularly pleased by the inclusion of United Jewish Federations in your article. Just one correction -- UJF changed its name a while back to Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA).

Chris, glad to hear that you're finding the article useful.

A question for you-- having digested the article and continued your strategy conversation with that perspective in mind, what's your path going to be?

Thanks for the relevant article. We've only recently launched and have primarily a local development focus, nevertheless, we've been having this discussion all week. We want to participate and be responsive, but weren't sure how to help or through whom. We also felt we needed to consider our own emerging reputation. Our normal protocol is to giveback 50% of all our revenues, but, as was confirmed in your article, we felt that this is a time when givers want 100% of their "over and above" gift to go quickly and directly to the disaster. Thanks for "sitting in with us". Your input is very valuable.
