Enter the #WhyIVolunteer Photo Contest: Show Off Your Impact by Aug. 24

Visual storytelling is one of the most powerful marketing and fundraising strategies there is, and volunteers are some of your most impassioned supporters. So why not ask them to tell your story with their photos and videos?

Between now and August 24, VolunteerMatch is hosting its’ first-ever #WhyIVolunteer Photo Contest—an online competition designed to recognize outstanding volunteers and organizations, plus encourage nonprofits like yours to tell your stories in creative ways.

Entering is easy: Each volunteer entrant simply posts a photo of her volunteer work in action, and a one-sentence explanation of why she volunteers on VolunteerMatch’s Facebook or Pinterest pages, with the #WhyIVolunteer tag.

VolunteerMatch will be sharing these inspiring stories on its’ Facebook and Pinterest throughout the competition. The volunteer whose story spurs the most likes and repins will be featured in a Volunteer Spotlight on the VolunteerMatch homepage for the month of September. And we’ll highlight the volunteer’s organization (that could mean hours) in its Nonprofit Spotlight.

The #WhyIVolunteer Photo Contest is a fun and easy way to engage your volunteer audience and show off your organization’s impact. Reach out to your supporters and invite them to enter!

Check out these early submissions on our Pinterest or Facebook, and make sure your volunteers submit by August 24!

P.S. Laura Hamrick, pictured above, volunteers at Respite: A Center for Grief & Hope. She volunteers “to brighten a child’s day and see the smile on her face just because I am there to support and love them.”
