Paws for a Cause Vet Care, formerly Spay Illinois, offers affordable preventive, surgical, dental, diagnostic, and pharmacy services in the greater Chicago area. Since 2009, it has cared for 252,000+ pets, including 8,900 spay/neuter surgeries and 18,600 wellness visits in 2023 alone. Guided by compassion, accessibility, excellence, and tenacity, its mission is to keep pets healthy and in their homes for life by ensuring every family can access quality veterinary care.
The Challenge
Paws for a Cause Vet Care did a complete rebrand, updating their organization name and website domain. This sparked unexpected turbulence when Google struggled to verify the new identity, immediately suspending the nonprofit’s Ad Grants account, making it difficult to reactivate. Moreover, the PC Vet Care was worried that this overhaul might have caused them to lose brand recognition among their target audience.
Beyond reinstating the Grant, the team needed to reconnect with supporters still searching for “Spay Illinois” while simultaneously expanding reach across greater Chicago. With their revamped operations, they wanted to drive more engagement to their services and revenue-generating activities like membership and donations. Lacking in-house Google Ads expertise to navigate reinstatement, rebuild tracking, and craft conversion-focused campaigns, they turned to Getting Attention to transform a potential setback into a growth springboard.

Our first course of action was to navigate the process of reinstating their Google Ad Grant account, which involved extensive communication with Google Support. Once their account was restored, Getting Attention immediately got to work relaunching full-funnel campaigns. This turned Paws for a Cause’s rebrand into rapid growth.
