About the Client
Diabetes Youth Families (DYF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children, teens, and families affected by type 1 diabetes. For over 85 years, DYF has provided education, recreation, and support programs, empowering youth to live confident, healthy lives with diabetes. Through their flagship summer camps, weekend retreats, and year-round programs, DYF fosters a sense of community and equips children and families with the tools they need to thrive.
The Challenge
DYF approached Getting Attention looking to better leverage their Google Ad Grant. While they had access to the $10,000 monthly grant, their small team was stretched thin managing day-to-day operations and program delivery. They lacked
the capacity to actively manage and optimize their Ad Grant account, leading to lackluster results.
DYF’s primary goals were to increase registrations for their diabetes education camps and programs, and to raise awareness among families navigating Type 1 diabetes.
With a niche audience and a competitive digital landscape in the health nonprofit sector, DYF needed an expert partner to ensure their Grant was driving meaningful results—without adding to their team’s workload.

With Getting Attention’s expertise, DYF saw a significant transformation in their Google Ad Grant performance.
By restructuring their campaigns and aligning ad groups with their core goals camp registrations and community support— Getting Attention helped DYF maximize the potential of their Grant.
Over the course of our partnership, DYF monthly conversions have increased from 43 to 192, including both camp registration form submissions and donation button clicks. Registration form submissions alone, their most important outcome, account for approximately 25% of conversions.
Click-through rate (CTR) rose to 10.91%, far exceeding the Ad Grant compliance requirement of 5%.
Monthly Ad Grant spend increased by over 3,000%, going from under $100 per month to consistently utilizing a substantial portion of the available budget. All this while also reducing the cost per conversion from $41.93 to $16.67 meaning the Grant is spending more efficiently.
These improvements enabled DYF to drive more registrations for their life-changing camps and expand their community of supporters, helping even more families manage Type 1 diabetes with confidence.
